Twitch Design System: Core UI Ultraviolet
Project Background
Core UI is a design system of Twitch and it manifests itself in a form of robust set of stateless React components for engineers and expansive Figma library for designers. All the documentation lives on the internal site which serves as the single source of truth. By empowering and supporting designers and stakeholders, Core UI ensures the delivery of high-quality, consistent customer experiences. We do 80% of the heavy lifting to free up creative minds to focus on their visions and goals.
Core UI Provides:
- Shared variables and tokens for thematic color palettes in SASS
- Standardized fonts, text scale, spacing and responsive breakpoints
- SVG icon library
- Built-in accessibility and UX best practice
- Copywriting guidelines for product
- Interactive examples, documentation, and guidance
Using single design system will lead to experiences that reflect Twitch brand, consistency across teams and products, maintaining accessibility standards, and provide better designer & dev communication.
